This book is about a boy, Sunny who didn’t have his own personal likes or dislikes he was a shy boy with an introvert nature and children of his class didn’t prefer to talk to him. He used to spend his school days alone when suddenly one day he met someone who understood him the way he thought no one ever can. He never wanted to lose that person but destiny wanted something else. His good childhood days came to an end when he lost all his hopes of finding that person again. His love was unreciprocated which kept him alive but still killed him everyday. He started living in the hope of finding her again. He lives in the past and only cherishes those memories.
Saloni, a prostitute was desperate for money. She had a dark past and circumstances that lead her to choose this profession. She was not proud of it but this life was not her choice.
Sunny finds pleasure in his past but one wrong turn, one wrong company leads him to a tough journey and a game of life and death.
Will he live , will he die , will he forget his past and start embracing his present? Or will he find the love of his life? This journey of love and redemption answers all the questions.
This book generates curiosity among the reader. The reader is kept in suspense till the very end. It involves a lot of incredible events and characters which provokes the reader to read the book further to discover the end. The language of the book is simple and easy to understand with a good vocabulary. The author has kept a very thin line between the past and present. It takes time for the reader to understand what sudden events took place. The book starts with the past and ends on good terms. It introduces a lot of new characters in the beginning which makes readers curious and he/she is able to imagine it. The protagonist of the book seems a bit judgemental as he judges the prostitute and thinks of her as a slut and the profession as he degraded one. He later discovers with the upcoming events about the real side of Saloni and starts changing his opinion of her. He thinks she is only helping her because of the money.
It is good interesting book which very well connects the story with the rain as the protagonist is a fan of rain and he developed this liking because of her love of life. He is not ready to move on and has true feelings for her. He may or may not find her but destiny plays a strong game with him.
What I love about the book
The loving nature of protagonist. He believes that someday he will find her and thus he never moves on. He cherishes his past memories with her and rain brings all his memories back. He is a true lover and carer. He was shy but was passionate and extrovert with only one person. He fights till the end and is also a true friend.
What I found a little inappropriate
The author does a quick transition from event to event and from past to present but it requires time for the readers to mould themselves. It requires a lot of attention for the readers. The events in the story didn’t seem linked. Sudden change of events created confusion.
To sum up it’s a different novel which involves a change of events and new things coming up, a novel based on true love of the protagonist and ofcourse the title ‘A walk in the rain’ justifies at the end which you should discover after the reading this book.
